Return of the fleet

I think parts of this pic work okay, some not so much. I wanted the foreground element to be very dark and a bit more graphic (supposed to be black rock in DEEP, dare I say otherworldy shadow)...HOWEVER..I'm not sure it's workin. Looks a bit like the foreground is at night, the BG late afternoon. Thoughts, ideas, take out orders.....

yeah, one # 1 with the chicken balls on the side please. I like the moodiness, your right that the shadow ed foreground element isn't working in comparison to the bg....hmmmm...i really don't know how I would go about creating a more "otherworldly" shadow... but i can tell you that you have some damn fine work here, and that i'm truly inspired!

cheers

HO HO HO! Merry Christmas Dude!!
I love the metal effect that you have on that ship. How'd you do dat?! Looks great. I like the contrast with the foreground personally. Something with the composition is a little off though. It is really heavy on the left side...... how to fix that, I have no idea, so don't even listen to me. I'm super impressed with these last few paintings. Nice job sir!

Thanks for the comments and crits (and take out orders). I checked this piece on a couple of monitors. A mac laptop, my Mac display @ work and a PC. I noticed quite a difference in brightness/contrast due to the different sources. It seemed REALLY dark on some. Better to err on the side of lightness. I think when I color it I'll lighten it a bit and punch up the detail on the right side of the image for balance. Thanks again everyone!
